Real Girl Real Fashion Ivy Maisonet

Ivy Maisonet and what inspires her spunky original style....

I'm a pretty big movie and sci fi fantasy nerd and that does inspire a lot of what I wear. (Just ask my 2 full drawers of graphic tees! Hehehe)

I love the beauty and elegance in old movies but also love classic rock and the grunge era, so I like to play with that particular cocktail!

I am an artist so clothes & creating outfits has always been fun for me! Its another form of art, just on your body! Its like a tiny adventure every morning building an outfit.

My favorite places to shop are my job Torrid, Urban Outfitters, Hot Topic, Forever 21 and thrift shops are so much fun because you never know what you can find!

I've also find cool things at regular department stores like Telco, it just depends on how you rock it!

Curvy Couture Roadshow Setting Fire to the Plus Sized Fashion World

The Curvy Couture Roadshow is a proud member of the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival Culture Program. Their goal was to introduce the general public in Melbourne to the many amazing plus sized fashion designers and styles that are available to women of curves. Contributors from Australia and New Zealand,both established and independent took part. Many of these shops I have heard of and many I haven't. Usually these shops could only be found online but the Curvy Couture Roadshow bought it straight to the people at the Art House Meat Market.

One thing I really loved about this event was the fact they used both professional models and local women from Melbourne. That element alone was beautiful to me. So many designers,including but not limited to, attended:

Runway Photographer Megan Harding captured some amazing photos at the Curvy Couture Runway Shows in Melbourne. This amazing event took place Sunday March 30th 2014. The event consisted of multiple runway shows and a Market Venue full amazing plus designers and shops that carry sizes 14+.
